October 6, 2009, The Madison County Delinquency Prevention Council will host the 2nd Annual Madison County Step Up for Kids Day. The purpose of the event is to draw national wide spread support to issues affecting America's children—poverty, health care, juvenile incarceration, early care and education, child abuse, and after-school programs for children and families. The Madison County Delinquency Prevention Council would like to encourage the community to join the march in support of “Step-Up for Kids.” Anyone interested in joining the march can either meet at the Teen Center at 11:40 a.m. or they can join the march from the CVS parking lot at 11:50 a.m. Please contact Jennifer Webb at (859) 302-4132 or jenniferwebb@kycourts.net for additional information.

October 9- Sponge Bob Square Pants- 5pm-7pm at Lake Reba Little League Complex. Meet and Greet Sponge Bob and help support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. *Starlight Mile Participants should arrive early. Race registration ends at 7:15pm at Shelter A* Sponsored by Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center. 

October 11- "2nd Sunday"- Walk/Run/Bike/Skate Battlefield Park- 2pm-4pm.  Battlefield Park located at 1546 Battlefield Memorial Hwy/ US 421 between Richmond & Berea.  2nd Sunday is a free event for everyone of all ages.  The purpose of the event is to encourage Kentuckians to be physically active and to build healthy communities. Come out to the battlefield and enjoy games for kids, physical activity demonstrations, walking tours, door prizes and much more.
