The Arc of Madison County is an advocacy group and a resource for Parents of Children with Disabilities. Every year the Arc hosts several programs for children and adults with special needs. The annual picnic is held in the fall along with skate parties, and dances throughout the year.
The Arc also has been given money by the City of Richmond, City of Berea, and Madison County Governments for recreation grants. These grants have been given for people with disabilities to be able to participate in various recreational opportunities like camps and Special Olympics.
